The First Summer (1 of 2): This picture really shows the immense size of the Focal Garden. There's plenty of growing still needed from the plants, but the real news here is how huge they are by mid-Summer of their first full year in the ground. Many of the most exciting plants are available—if at all—only in very small sizes, and so many of the plants here have already doubled and trippled in size. Besides being selected for their happiness in growing by the sea, the site itself—blessed with deep nutritious soil, full sun, and a brand-new irrigation system—couldn't be more welcoming.
