Estate Planting (1 of 8): A grand project of about twenty years ago, the reason for the faded colors in a couple of the photos in this gallery. Louis was called in to strategize the resurrection of a twenty-foot-square walled garden, the intimate corner of an otherwise grand Edwardian estate in the hills of Rhode Island.
The sunporch of an enormous shingled mansion is at the right, the new gated entrance into the garden from a large adjacent terrace at the front, and one of the two retaining walls that complete the garden's enclosure is visible at the back.
See the Metropolitan Home feature on this garden in the "Louis in the Media" pages.
